A Dhaka court has placed eight Regent Hospital staff on a two days remand in a case filed on charges of allegations of issuing fake Covid-19 certificates.
The accused are Md Ahasan Habib, admin officer of Regent hospital, Md Ahsan Habib Hasan, X-ray technician, Hakim Ali, medical technologist, Rakibul Islam Sumon, project admin of Regent head office, Amit Banik, HR admin manager of head office, Abdus Salam, driver of head office, Abdur Rashid Khan Jewel, executive officer of head office and Mizanur Rahman.
RAB produced them before the court on Sunday and applied for a five-day remand. Following the hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order.
Earlier on July 6, RAB conducted separate drives at the Uttara and Mirpur branches of Regent Hospital and arrested eight people for issuing fake Covid-19 test certificates and collecting money from Covid-19 patients.
On July 15, Rapid Action Battalion arrested Shahed with illegal arms in a special drive from the bank of the Labangaboti river in Komarpur village around 5:00 am.
