Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain at many places all over the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am on Wednesday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and at a few places over Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions,” The Met Office said.
Some other places across the country will likely be hit by moderately heavy to heavy falls, the Met Office forecast said.
The well-marked low over West Central Bay and adjoining North Andhra coast has weakened and became unimportant.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the northern part of Bangladesh.
One of its associated troughs extends up to the North Bay.
Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over the North Bay, the weather office said.
