Sylhet City Corporation (CICC) Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury has been threatened with death over mobile phones. In this connection, Mayor Ariful Sylhet made a general diary (GD) at Kotwali police station.
On Saturday, Shaduddin, the public relations officer of Sisik, made GDT on behalf of the mayor.
The officer in charge of the police station (OC) Selim Mia confirmed that the GD was made on behalf of the mayor with Grameenphone and Banglalink number. Police are investigating by collecting information about these two users.
According to the GD, the mobile phone of the mayor Ariful received frequent calls from the Grameenphone and two Banglalink numbers at around 10 am on Saturday. The first call was received by a personal assistant with the mayor. In the meanwhile, the phone was cut off in the abusive language in obscene language. After that, he repeatedly phoned the phone a few more times.
These two numbers are called about eight times. And chairs are threatened to be taken away and killed. The matter has been raised on suspicion of disrupting the security of the mayor’s normal activities and activities.
In this regard, Mayor Ariful told the media, “He did not think there was any Sylhetee in the language the threat was being spoken. With such a saying, “‘I’ll take your chair, I’ll kill you”, I think I would be in a vicious circle to interrupt my work. But I am not disturbed by these threats. ”
