A female student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) committed suicide by hanging herself early Thursday.

It has been reported that the student named Achhia Akhter announced her plans for committing suicide via a Facebook post the night before.

Achhia Akhter was a student of Bangla Department of 2019-20 session. She, daughter of Md Jalal Uddin, was a resident of Mothura village of Bogura Sadar Upazila.

Achhia’s elder brother Al-Amin said that her sister hanged herself with the beam of their house in the early morning. He initially thought that his sister killed herself following complexities over her love affair with the youth.

“Please forgive me for my behaviour that hurt you. Because no one can say when death comes to the door. May Allah blesses everyone,” Achhia wrote in a Facebook status before her death.
