Language movement veteran Professor Dr Mirza Mazharul Islam has passed away on Sunday at the capital’s BIRDEM General Hospital.
He breathed his last at 9.20 am today due to old age complications.
On September 30, the veteran physician and language activist was admitted to the hospital. He was 93 years old at the time of his death.
His Namaz-e-Janaza will be held at BIRDEM General Hospital on Sunday noon after Zuhr prayer. He will be laid to rest at the Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals’ Graveyard in Dhaka.
