Abdul Ali went to war loving Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He is the son of late Alim Uddin of Chougharia village in Madhabdi Kanthalia union of Narsingdi Sadar upazila. He took part in the war and snatched victory from the Pak army but remained defeated even after 50 years. Abdul Ali appealed to the Prime Minister to get recognition as a freedom fighter.
Going to the spot and looking at Abdul Ali’s papers, it is known that he took direct part in the liberation war by taking training at the premises of Maisadi Madrasa of kathalia Union of Narsingdi under the heroic symbol Major Nebal Siraj. National List No. 518 as a freedom fighter. Besides, in the name of Abdul Ali there are certificates of freedom struggle, certificates of freedom fighters and letters signed by local freedom fighters. Despite all this, the country did not get the recognition of freedom fighters even in 50 years of independence. When asked about the reason, Abdul Ali said that he is in this situation today as he is financially indigent. Whoever is approached, no service without money. Towards the end of life, old age allowance has been matched. He received half of the old age allowance three months ago.
When contacted, Abdul Motalib Pathan, president of Narsingdi District Sector Commander Forum Muktijoddha-71, said that the government has published a gazette listing the freedom fighters from time to time. Today marks the 50th anniversary of the country’s independence. The local freedom fighters have to admit that Abdul Ali took part in the liberation war. Verification must be sorted. There are six lists of freedom fighters in which there is no name. Many people in this country are demanding recognition of freedom fighters even without taking part.
