The dragah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti was vacated during a security drill and 1,500 police personnel were deployed around it on Wednesday in preparation for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s scheduled visit to Ajmer on Thursday noon.

Hasina will reach Jaipur by plane and travel to Ajmer by road to offer prayers at the famous dargah. She will reach the city at 12 in the noon, said officials. A final security rehearsal was made at the dargah on Wednesday by a top-level team that reached Ajmer from Delhi.

Dargah Bazaar market will remain closed during Hasina’s visit to the shrine. Roads leading to the dargarh from the entry point of Ajmer were renovated on Tuesday.

The district administration has arranged accommodation facilities at Circuit House in the city for Hasina.

“All security arrangements as per the protocol have been done for the visit of the Bangladesh PM who is reaching with a delegation to offer prayers at the shrine. Rajasthan Armed Corp personnel will remain deployed throughout the route. Six IPS officers will oversee security,” said IGP (Ajmer range) Rupinder Singh.

Before Hasina reaches the dargah, the premises will be vacated for her security and streets in Dargah Bazaar will be closed to traffic. Windows facing the main road will also remain closed, and armed police will be deputed on the roofs of buildings on both sides of Dargah Bazaar.

Many routes in the city will be diverted to ensure local people face no problem in movement.

The market associations are helping the administration by keeping their shops closed when Hasina visits the dargah, said officials. The route from Delhi Gate to the dargah will be occupied by police personnel, they added. Sourec The Times Of India
