BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that the government has resorted to torture and repression on their party leaders and workers.
“The brutal and inhuman torture and repression on BNP leaders and workers across the country through the law enforcing agencies and ruling party’s hoodlums are not being stopped in any way. The Awami League government wants to cling to power at any cost resorting to torture and repression on the opposition BNP’s leaders and workers,” he said, adding that the present voter-less government has become blind, desperate and inhuman to stay in power.
The BNP Secretary General made the allegations in a statement signed by Munir Hossain, the party’s assistant office secretary, on Sunday (November 13, 2022).
“As part of it, members of the law enforcing agencies conducted raids at the village home of Jatiyatabadi Swecchasebak Dal’s central committee president SM Jilani. Failing to find him at his house, the law enforcing agencies misbehaved with his family members,” Fakhrul said.
Mirza Fakhrul also said being jealous of the popularity of BNP, the government has resorted to weakening the main opposition BNP adopting various strategies.
“The present voterless government has become blind, desperate and inhuman for staying in power. People have now taken to the street to oust the fascist Awami League government. They will stay on the steet until the fall of Awami League government,” he said.
