Actress and development professional Mithila has recently opened up about the emotional turmoil she faced during her divorce from singer-actor Tahsan after 11 years of marriage. Speaking candidly on a podcast, she reflected on the difficult phase of her life and how she eventually found strength.
“In 2015, we were living separately, but I still believed everything would be okay,” Mithila recalled. “I kept waiting. I couldn’t mentally adjust to what was happening. By 2017, I finally realized the relationship wouldn’t work anymore.”
At the time, she was a young mother with a small child, limited life experience, and an overwhelming sense of responsibility. “I didn’t even know how to make decisions,” she admitted.
Mithila shared that her financial independence helped her get through those dark days. “It’s essential for women to have a place of their own—not their father’s home, not their in-laws’, but a home that’s truly theirs,” she emphasized.
Despite being married, she continued her education and maintained a job. “I wasn’t independent enough then to raise a child alone,” she said, “but I kept fighting—carrying a broken heart, a lonely life, and the shadows of an unfinished relationship.”
Once considered a dream couple on screen, Tahsan and Mithila starred in popular productions like “Amar Golpe Tumi”, “Mr. and Mrs.”, and “Landphoner Dingulote Prem”. Together, they represented the poetry of love.
But real-life stories don’t always rhyme. Some relationships end—but their stories remain.
