Law Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul said that the referendum act will be enacted within the next three to four working days.
He made this statement at a briefing held at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital on Thursday (November 20).
Asif Nazrul said, “We are going to pass the referendum act very quickly. It will be done within the next three to four working days.”
He also said that the Advisory Council has given final approval to the separate Supreme Court Secretariat for the independence of the judiciary. This secretariat will be responsible for all matters of lower court judges. As a result, the government will not have control over lower court judges. This will be effective after the formation of the secretariat.
The Law Adviser also said that the government is sending letters to India to extradite former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal.
