A poacher has been detained with 32 kilograms of venison, head, legs and traps in a joint operation by the Coast Guard and police in Mongla, Bagerhat. Coast Guard Media Officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haq gave this information on Wednesday (November 26) noon.
He said that based on a secret information, a joint operation was conducted in the Kanainagar area of Mongla area by Coast Guard Station Harbaria and police at around 1am on Tuesday. During the operation, a poacher was detained along with 32 kilograms of venison, 2 heads, 8 legs and about 2,000 meters of deer hunting traps.
The recovered venison, head, legs, hunting traps and the detained person were handed over to Mongla Police Station for further legal action.
The Coast Guard official also said that the Coast Guard will continue such operations in the future to prevent the killing and trafficking of wildlife.
