Govt turns Bangladesh into a ‘criminal state’: Rizvi

BNP senior joint secretary general Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has alleged that Sheikh Hasina has turned the entire Bangladesh into a ‘criminal state.’
“The government she runs is the government of criminals. Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has given an impression through his remarks that he will join BNP soon,” he said while addressing a press conference at the party’s central office at Nayapaltan in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Referring to the government’s obstructions to BNP’s grand rallies at divisional cities of the country, Rizvi said people from all walks of life have been joining the Rangpur grand rally from Friday night spontaneously. The Rangpur city has turned into a spontaneous festive city. People have thronged the BNP’s grand rally from different districts, upazilas, unions and wards under the Rangpur division. People have joined the grand rally with dried food like chapatis, puffed rice and molasses. It is really an unprecedented scenario.
The BNP leader observed that the prime minister and some senior members of her cabinet have become desperate witnessing the convergence of people at the BNP’s grand rallies.
Criticising the party in power, the former JCD president Rizvi said they have hatched a plan to introduce one-party BKSAL system suspending all the activities of other political parties in the country by killing democracy. They have now established a neo-BKSAL government in the country. Thye consequences of speaking at a public place or inside the rooms now means forced disappearance and going to jail.
