At least 175 sheep died at Sonagazi upazila in Feni district due to attacks of wild dogs.

The incident took place in a farm of Nazrul Islam Shaheen, former chairman of Muchapur Union of Noakhaliat, at Abullya Char under Charchandia Union of the upazila at around 9 pm on Thursday.

Shaheen Chowdhury, the owner of the affected farm, said there were a total of 275 sheep in the farm. At around 6 pm on Thursday, Selim, the shepherd of the farm, went to the nearby market for breakfast. At that time, six wild dogs attacked the farm. A total of 175 sheep were killed by the bites of the dogs. Of them,150 sheep were pregnant.

Sonagazi upazila nirbahi officer Kamrul Hasan said the owner of the farm did not inform him about the matter. However, action will be taken after the inquiry.
