The school authorities have formed a six-member investigation committee to ascertain the exact number and identity of the casualties in the plane crash at the permanent campus of Milestone School and College in Diyabari, Uttara. Due to the intense chaos and panic immediately after the accident, it was not possible to immediately collect specific information. However, it is believed that many people at the scene were injured or killed.
The committee formed on Tuesday (July 23) has been headed by the college principal, Mohammad Ziaul Alam. The committee has been directed to submit a detailed report within the next three working days.

The other members of the committee are—Vice Principal (Administration), Md. Masud Alam, Headmistress Khadija Akhter, Coordinator Lutfunnesa Lopa, Parent Representative Moniruzzaman Mollah (whose daughter Zaima Jahan is a fourth-grade student), and 12th-grade students Maruf bin Ziaur Rahman and Md. Bhasnim Bhuiyan Pratik.

The investigation committee has been instructed to inspect the scene, contact the affected families, and prepare a complete list of the casualties and missing persons after verification. Sources said that this report will not only be used for internal management purposes but will also be provided to the government, rescue agencies, and other authorities if necessary.

The official order for the formation of the committee, signed by the principal, has already been sent to the concerned parties through email, and the members have started their activities.

Meanwhile, administrative-level officials are also working separately to look into other aspects of the accident – such as rescue operations, medical assistance, damage to infrastructure, and security deficiencies.

It is worth noting that an Air Force fighter plane crashed near the primary section of the school on Monday (July 21) afternoon. Many students, teachers and those present were injured and killed in this. The day after this horrific incident, a state mourning was observed.
