BSF takes away elderly man from Parshuram border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has detained an elderly man named Nurul Islam (63) from the area adjacent to Pillar No. 2174 on the Parshuram border in Feni.
The incident occurred at around 9 am on Monday (August 11) in the North Ketaranga border area of Boxmahmud Union of the upazila.

BGB and locals said that when Nurul Islam went to the border area around 9 am on Monday (August 11), the BSF entered Bangladesh and detained him. Initially, it was learnt that the man had a physical disability.

Local Rabiul Haque said that Nurul Islam is the son of Sultan Ahmed and Halima Khatun of Kona village of Koiyar. He used to earn a living by buying vegetables from the village and selling them in the market. He has disabilities in both his hands.

BGB Feni Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Mosharraf Hossain confirmed the abduction of an elderly man. He said that talks have been held with the BSF at the company commander level. They have promised to return the man by Monday afternoon.
