Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (retd.) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said more than 80,000 army personnel will be deployed in the upcoming parliamentary election. Members of other forces, including the police, RAB and BGB, will also be deployed.
He made the remarks at a press conference after visiting the Tegharia High School polling station in Dhaka-3 parliamentary constituency on Monday.

The Home Affairs Adviser said that while there were previously two Ansar members at each center, an additional armed Ansar member will be deployed for the security of the presiding officer in the future.

Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said that due to the proper work of the country’s media, the spread of fake news in many neighbouring countries has stopped.

Incidentally, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus recently announced that the 13th national parliamentary election will be held before Ramadan in February next year.
