Two people were killed on the spot, and another died after being taken to hospital after a head-on collision between a RAB-8 vehicle and a local bus on the Dhaka-Kuakata highway. At least 20 people were injured in the incident. The accident took place on Saturday morning.
Patuakhali Fire Service Station Officer Rezayanul Islam and Additional Superintendent of Police Sajedul Islam confirmed this information.

Eyewitnesses said that a family from RAB-8 left for Kuakata in the morning to go on a picnic. On the way, their car collided head-on with a local bus coming from the opposite direction at a place called Pakshiya on the highway. The RAB car was twisted and mangled in the collision.

After the accident, when screams and screams started at the scene, local people rushed to help in the rescue work. A two-year-old child of a RAB member was killed on the spot and RAB driver Alim was killed. In addition, a woman named Afroza was killed. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical. The injured have been admitted to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital.

Meanwhile, the local administration said that the cause of the accident is being investigated.
