HSC-equivalent exams results now in discussion

The results of the 2025 HSC and equivalent examinations have been published. The average pass rate is 58.83 percent.
The results of 11 education boards of the country were published simultaneously at around 10 am on Thursday (October 16). Professor Khandokar Ehsanul Kabir, Chairman of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, published the results.

Currently, the issue or topic of the results of the HSC and equivalent examinations is under discussion nationwide.

Meanwhile, 69,097 students got GPA-5 in this year’s examination. Last year, i.e. 2024, 145,911 students got GPA-5 – therefore, the number of students getting GPA-5 has decreased by 76,814 this year.

This time, 12,51,111 students participated in the examination under 11 education boards.

Madrasa Education Board, on the other hand, has secured the top position among the 11 education boards with a 75.61 percent pass rate in the HSC and equivalent examinations this year, where 69,097 students got GPA-5. However, despite being the highest among the 11 education boards, the pass rate in the Madrasa board has also decreased compared to last year. The published results reveal that the pass rate for Alim last year was 93.40 percent.

Besides, compared to previous years, the Dhaka Education Board has the highest pass rate, while the Cumilla Education Board has the lowest.

This year, the pass rate in the Dhaka Board is 64.62%. The lowest pass rate is in the Cumilla Board, with 48.86%. Other boards have different pass rates: Rajshahi 59.40%, Jashore 50.20%, Chattogram 52.57%, Barishal 62.57%, Sylhet 51.86%, Dinajpur 57.49%, and Mymensingh 51.54%.

Noted that students can check their HSC exam results now on the education boards’ websites, at their schools and exam centres, or through SMS.
