DU postpones classes, exams on Sunday
Dhaka University (DU) authorities have announced the postponement of all classes and exams for Sunday as earthquakes were felt repeatedly in the country, injuring some students and causing panic among teachers and students.
The information was announced in a notification signed by the DU Controller of Examinations, Dr Himadri Shekhar Chakraborty, on Saturday evening.
The notification said, “For the information of students and all concerned, it is hereby informed that due to the injuries sustained by some students due to the earthquake and panic among teachers and students, all internal classes and examinations of Dhaka University scheduled for tomorrow, November 23, have been postponed.”
It also stated that the new schedule for the postponed exams will be announced at a later date.
Incidentally, several earthquakes were felt across the country, including Dhaka, on Friday and Saturday morning and evening, causing many students to panic and start leaving the campus. The university authorities have taken this urgent decision to normalize the situation and ensure the safety of students.
