The deceased Abdullah Al Mamun is the son of Md. Abul Kasem of Dargabandh village in Dulalpur union of Shibpur in Narsingdi. Railway police and relatives of the deceased said that he had left his house for the factory in the morning. He was standing near the Basail rail gate at around 7:45am. At that time, the Narsingdi commuter train leaving from Bhairab was heading towards Dhaka. And on the adjacent railway line, the Parabat Express train was running towards Sylhet from the opposite direction. At that time, he was standing on the Dhaka-bound railway line waiting for the Parabat Express to cross.
At one point, as the Narsingdi commuter train approached Mamun, people at the scene repeatedly called him to move away. But since he was hearing impaired, he did not respond, and he could not even understand the sound of the train’s whistle. Later, his body was cut into pieces by the train. He died on the spot. Upon receiving the information, Sub-Inspector Zahurul Islam of Narsingdi Railway Police Outpost went to the scene and recovered 10 pieces of the deceased’s body.
Anwar Hossain, gateman at Basail rail gate, said that the Narsingdi Commuter and Parabat Express trains were crossing the rail gate at the same time. He was shocked by this. He shouted many times, saying ‘train is coming’, ‘train is coming’, but he could not hear. He was then crushed by the train and died.
Meanwhile, the deceased Kanchan Mia supplied water to shops in the Amirganj railway area. Like every day, he was carrying water in the afternoon. At the same time, a freight train from Dhaka to Chattogram was passing through Amirganj railway station. At that time, Kanchan Mia was crossing the railway line carrying water and was thrown off the track after being hit by the freight train. He died on the spot. Later, the railway police went to the spot, recovered the body and brought it to the outpost.
