A woman and her son were allegedly slaughtered at Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj district on Sunday.

The victim were Rajia Sultana Kakoli, 42, and her son Talha Islam, 8, residents of Gopindi area in the upazila.

Quoting locals, police said Kakoli and her son went to sleep in separate rooms as usual.

Locals spotted the throat-slit bodies in the morning and informed police.

On information, police as well as CID members rushed to the spot, said Araihazar Police Station officer in-charge Azizul Haque.

He said the bodies would be sent to Narayanganj Sarar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police are in action to identify and arrest the miscreants, the OC further said.
