Chief Adviser (CA) Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus has announced a 7-point proposal at a dialogue held in Cox’s Bazar on the safe repatriation of the Rohingya. At the same time, he warned, “It is our moral responsibility to stop the armed killers from implementing their horrific plan to ethnically exterminate the Rohingya.”
He made the statement at a stakeholder dialogue on Rohingya issue in Cox’s Bazar on Monday.

The Chief Adviser arrived at Cox’s Bazar Airport this morning to join an international conference.

Participating in the main discussion there, he said that despite the limitations of resources and capacity, Bangladesh opened its borders in 2017 and even before that for humanitarian reasons to save the lives of the Rohingya. The Myanmar government and the Arakan Army (AA) must ensure that no more Rohingya enter Bangladesh.

Dr Yunus also said the country is now stable and ready for the national election.

The ‘Stakeholders Dialogue on the Rohingya Situation’ began on Sunday at the Baywatch Auditorium of Hotel Inani in Ukhiya.

The dialogue will continue until August 26. On the opening day, the government gave a clear message- Bangladesh will not allow any more Rohingya to enter the country.
