The janaza of Sharif Osman Hadi, spokesperson of the Inqilab Mancha, has been completed. After the janaza prayers, his body is being taken for burial beside the grave of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, where he will be laid to rest. The grave there has already been prepared.

The janaza prayer was held on Saturday at around 2:30 pm at the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building, with the presence of thousands of people from various walks of life. The prayer was led by his elder brother, Abu Bakar Siddique.

Earlier, Hadi’s body was taken from the morgue of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases to the Suhrawardy Medical College morgue for an autopsy. After the autopsy, his body was brought to the South Plaza of the National Parliament Building. At that time, Hadi’s family members, colleagues, and well-wishers were present.

On December 12, while Osman Hadi was traveling by rickshaw in the Bijoynagar Box Culvert area of the capital, two assailants arrived on a motorcycle, shot him at close range, and fled. He was quickly taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in critical condition. He was later transferred to Evercare Hospital, where he was treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Subsequently, on Monday, he was flown to Singapore by air ambulance for advanced treatment. He passed away there on Thursday night.
